Weak Brave Light by Alex Snelgrove

Presented in partnership with Switzerland CS
Ran from Thursday, July 24th 2008 to Tuesday, July 31st 2008

Described by the Montreal Mirror as an exhibit that showed Alex Snelgrove's, "Softer, nostalgic side," Weak Brave Light was Snelgrove's first exhibition in Montreal. Featuring a slew of beautiful oversized oil paintings, Weak Brave Light demonstrated Snelgrove's interest in the prolongation of fleeting moments and memories. The paintings, intimate re-representations and reconstructions of imperfect snapshots, were, and are, documents of her life and her experiences. Exploring themes of detachment and longing, Weak Brave Light was an attempt to preserve one's fragile, personal history through paintings.
